"Islamic Boarding Schools stand in an environment that deals directly with
the community. Many Islamic boarding schools become a pride that provides
balanced learning between the world and the hereafter, even many Islamic boarding
schools that have economic activities such as cooperatives, agriculture, animal
husbandry and so on. One of the largest Sharia Savings and Credit Cooperatives
(KSPS) in Indonesia was established by alumni of the Sidogiri Islamic Boarding
School who were involved in the task of teaching and learning activities at the
Sidogiri Islamic Boarding School.
In 2016 KSPS BMT UGT Sidogiri Indonesia had a large wealth of assets,
reaching Rp.2,245,377,221,011, with income of Rp. 320,914,348,133 and net
income of Rp. 80,905,636,549 in 2016. To learn how to strategy KSPS BMT UGT
Sidogiri Indonesia is the largest Sharia Savings and Loan Cooperative in Indonesia,
so a business model is needed so that it can be applied to Islamic boarding schools
throughout Indonesia.
The method used in this study is the Business Model Canvas which was
first developed by Osterwalder and Pigneur. To find out the Cooperative business
strategy, 9 blocks of Canvas were used. In addition, this study also used the analysis
of SWOT, IFE, and EFE methods to find out each block on the Business Model
Canvas."
