Analisis Potensi dan Prospek Pariwisata Medis Syariah di Indonesia
Background – Indonesia as a country with a Muslim population of more than 80%,
and also have some hospitals with sharia certified and supported by the government.
However, from the data obtained there are still many Indonesian Muslims who go for
medical tourism to sharia hospitals abroad.
Objective – This research aims to find out how big the business potential and
development strategy of the Sharia medical tourism sector in Indonesia. And also to
find out the comparison of medical tourism destinations in the Southeast Asia region
and the factors that cause Indonesian Muslim tourists to go abroad for medical tourism.
Research Method - Methods of data analysis in this research using multiple linier
regression analysis, and SWOT. Primary data sourced from questionaires. While the
secondary data obtained from literature through books, journals, thesis, institusional
data, and other publication which is related to it. Quantitative data processing is
conducted by MS Excel and SPSS.
Findings - There is a simultaneously influence of 3 independent variables; medical
tourism sites (X1), services (X2), and costs (X3). And as a fixed variable is patient
satisfaction through the completeness of the facilities and infrastructure provided (Y).
Location does not significantly affect facilities and infrastructure, meaning that
Indonesia has a great opportunity, because Indonesia has many competent locations.
From SWOT analysis, the comparison of medical tourism destination countries in the
Southeast Asian region, Indonesia has great potential to enter the competition for
medical tourism, especially Sharia Medical Tourism, where currently only Malaysia is
actually implementing Muslim-friendly medical tourism.
