The Theory of Planned Behaviour to Jabodetabek Society Awareness of Online Gambling in Islam
This thesis discusses the views of the JABODETABEK
community on Islamic economics in light of the
increasing cases of online gambling in Indonesia.
This research employs a quantitative descriptive approach
with a case study design in the JABODETABEK area.
Data for this study were obtained through questionnaires,
as well as observations from relevant news and journals.
In this study, all TPB variables have a significant and
positive influence on respondents' intention to engage in
online gambling, with respective t-values and
significances of 3.727 (0.000) for attitude, 3.017 (0.003)
for behavioral control, and 2.757 (0.006) for subjective
norm. Simultaneously, all three variables significantly
impact respondents' intention to engage in online
gambling.
The research indicates that there is still a low awareness
among the JABODETABEK community regarding online
gambling cases, based on responses from participants.
Several reasons contribute to this, such as easy access and
an environment that supports such behavior, leading to a
continued intention to engage in online gambling
activities that violate Islamic economic principles. This
ironically can be illustrate of people lack of awareness as
the case in Indonesia still growing until this research is
written with the hope that there will soon be a best solution
to address this issue.
