Tdrive-Mobile Application Analysis Using Technology Acceptance Model And Next Phase Development Project Proposal
Background – The rapid development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has
facilitated the advance of innovative products dependent on extensive data analysis.
Among these advancements is the introduction of the tdrive safety driving mobile
application by Tugu Insurance in Indonesia. Despite its launch in 2018, there has
been a notable absence of research relating to customer acceptance and regular
usage of safety driving application.
Objective - This study has two objectives: First is to analyze users’ acceptance to
safety driving mobile application, and the second is to give recommendations on
the improvements of the safety driving acceptance or usage to maximize the impact
to society and organization.
Research Method –This study employs a dual-phase analytical approach. Initially,
a quantitative method utilizing the Technology Acceptance Model with Partial
Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS SEM) is employed for data
analysis. Subsequently, a qualitative phase involves in-depth expert interviews to
validate findings from the initial phase and formulate Project Recommendations
aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of the safety driving mobile application. The
quantitative study involves 119 participants, while the qualitative phase engages
with 5 experts.
Findings - The initial stage of this investigation establishes the significant positive
influence of Perceived Usefulness (PU) and Perceived Ease of Use (PE) on the
Behavioral Intention (BI) to utilize the Safety Driving mobile application.
Subsequent analysis in the second stage produces six project recommendations
aimed at enhancing the utilization and efficacy of the safety driving mobile
application. These recommendations involve the creation of bundled offers,
creating a rewards system, refocusing on design aspects, creating excitement on
safety driving, integration into larger digital ecosystems, and the development of
Usage-Based Insurance (UBI) products.
