Pengaruh Penerapan Maqashid Syariah terhadap Kepuasan dan Komitmen Anggota Koperasi:Perspektif Teori Pertukaran Sosial
Background – Despite their roles as pillars of people’s social and economic
development, cooperatives are still facing internal and external challenges,
including in managing satisfaction and commitment of their members.
Objective - This study combines Social Exchange Theory (SET) and Maqashid alshariah to examine factors that influence shariah cooperative members’ satisfaction
and commitment. Accordingly, this research aims at exploring 1) whether
reciprocity has positive and significant influence on cooperative members’
satisfaction; 2) whether trust has positive and significant influence on cooperative
members’ satisfaction; 3) whether maqashid al-shariah has positive and significant
influence on cooperative members’ satisfaction; and 4) whether cooperative
members’ satisfaction has positive and significant influence on their commitment
to cooperative.
Research Method - For the path modelling, data testing, processing, and analysis,
this research applies two-stage reflective-reflective analysis of Partial Least Square
– Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The study collected 249 respondents
from nine shariah cooperatives in six provinces of Indonesia. Among 249 retuned
questionnaires, 2 respondents have the amount of missing data exceeds 15% and
being removed from data analysis. Therefore, 247 respondents were analyzed using
SmartPLS software.
Findings - The four research questions have been answered by this study. Firstly,
the study supports the first hypothesis that Reciprocity has positive and significant
influence on the satisfaction of shariah cooperative members. Secondly, the study
supports the second hypothesis that Trust has positive and significant influence on
the satisfaction of shariah cooperative members. Thirdly, this study supports the
third hypothesis that Maqashid al-shariah has positive and significant influence on
the satisfaction of shariah cooperative members. This study confirms that maqashid
al-shariah can be applied as a higher order construct (HOC) with its dimensions
(Religion, Life, Intellect, Lineage and Trust) as lower order constructs (LOCs) to
measure satisfaction and commitment of shariah cooperative members. Finally,
this study also supports the fourth that Satisfaction has positive and significant
influence on the commitment of shariah cooperative members.
