Contribution Of Zakat Supporting Socio Economic Condition Of Mustahiq During Covid-19 Pandemic (Case Study:Baznas Kota Bekasi)

Purpose – This study aims to know the effect of amil performance, mustahiq
response, and zakat distribution system on zakat distribution program of
BAZNAS Kota Bekasi and the effect of zakat distribution program on mustahiq
welfare during COVID-19 pandemic.
Design/methodology/approach – Structural Equation Model-Partial Least Square
(SEM-PLS) is used to the model measurements. Online questionnaire were
distributed to 36 mustahiq who received zakat assistance in the program of
Sembako Mahasiswa Dhuafa, and offline questionnaire were distributed to 64
mustahiq who received zakat assistance in the program of Lansia II. Totally, there
are 100 respondent collected.
Findings – This study found that amil performance has no significant effect on
the successful of zakat distribution program. Meanwhile, the mustahiq response
and zakat distribution system have significant positive effect on zakat distribution
program in BAZNAS Kota Bekasi during COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, the
successful of zakat distribution program in BAZNAS Kota Bekasi during
COVID-19 pandemic has a positive significant effect on the mustahiq welfare to
fulfill their basic needs.
Research limitations/implications – This research has limited references that
concern about evaluating zakat program by using SEM-PLS method. Moreover,
there are some personal data that cannot be completed and questions related to
variables are assisted by the closest relatives.
