Determinants Of Unemployment Rate:Ibn Khaldun's Thought By Umar Chapra Perspective
Unemployment is a phenomenon known as a disease in a country in
addition to poverty in the concept of development. With the thought by Ibn
Khaldun (Umar Chapra's perspective), examines how the influence of Ibn
Khaldun's thought affects the unemployment rate in ASEAN countries, whether
they are members of the OIC or not. By using a panel regression approach and
proxies on Ibn Khaldun's thought (Umar Chapra perspective), the results obtained
are that the human development index, total investment and gross savings
variables as well as the productive age population have significantly and
negatively affected unemployment rates in all ASEAN countries. While the Gini
index and regulatory quality variables only have a significant and negative effect
on OIC member countries in ASEAN.
